A windy walk on Dartmoor near Tavistock. We're staying in Tavistock and our walk today is a short drive up onto the moor at Whitchurch Down. Getting out of the car the wind tugs at the doors, as if to encourage us to get walking.

Ewelme 7 mile walk, snow and snowdrops at Swyncombe. The English language is perverse...I've no idea why Leicester, Edinburgh and Alnwick are pronounced as they are. Similarly, I'm at a loss to know how to pronounce Ewelme...e-Whelm or You-lm?
Marsworth Locks
A flat walk on a dull day…and yet, this walk was much more enjoyable than that. Another walk near Tring. That’s something like 8 walks around here in the last 10 months so you may get the feeling we like Tring!

The weather was spectacular for late December. We parked up in the small car park on the B3306 St Ives road, just below Rosewall Hill, and walked down to the coastal footpath.
Great Hampden
There's been a village here since before Domesday. Great Hampden is hidden away, three miles west of Great Missenden and, judging by today's fog, is likely to remain undiscovered for another thousand years.
