Bovingdon

30th December

An end of year, early morning, walk. We park up in the car park on Chipperfield Common. It’s grey today as we set out and doesn’t get any better during the walk. Nevertheless, it’s been a while since we were last walking and it’s good to get out.

There’s nothing much to report about this walk, really. An easy, undemanding walk. Fields and woods, with the occasional village (Bovingdon & Feldon) thrown in for added interest…and flat. Typical of this part of the Chilterns. We complete the 7.3 miles in the morning and are back in time for the afternoon’s ‘entertainment’…Watford losing to Swansea, having led until the 85th minute…on reflection, the walk was the highlight of the day!
